The retirement of two rookies at once

Little J, Jason H. sitting on the right here with the helmet on enjoying a fine lunch while on scene for City Sprint Sprint prior to the new Q.The Lady Courier
The inevitability that rookies will retire always strikes me as love lost and gained. I have seen a bunch come and go, less than few have actually stayed for an eternity. This is the first time however I have had a blog to announce a departure which will become a regular feature of my blog, Retirement of Rookies. Within the past week both Jason(Little J) and Jen(The Lady Courier) have formally retired from the Q delivery service after putting in a combined time effort on the street of slightly less than that of my KMZ cool chain on my work bike. Speaking of which I may have to get a new chain this March. Anyways it is always nice to work with such fascinating and individual people that think it is a good idea to eek out their livity from the saddle of a bike. The down side is they always, always go on to something better and more fossil fuel burning unless of course it is Rich or Josh who both will prolly be around until the end comes tomorrow. So long Ex couriers, it has been nice working with you, I found you both to be a fine addition to the uptown metropolis backdrop. Good luck in your new careers and I hope to see you on bikes one day soon! Let's wish both Jason and Jen good luck in their future endeavors~

Thanks Bill, I appreciate the photo and the recognition. I am sad to say that the violence, carelessness, and insensitivity got to be too much for me. I'm not a fan of cold weather, but that I only have to deal with a few short months of the year...the harrassment that I dealt with as a woman in the courier field was what really did it for me. It's true that for now I have stepped over into the realm of car courier. However, my intention is to be working in the yoga studio by the time summer comes around. Wish me luck! I'm excited about being excited about riding bikes again...which I entirely lost towards the end.

I was pretty much unaware that you have had a problem with a harrassing work environment in the uptown jar of the QC. Now that you mention it I realize that maybe I too have been harrassed along the way, like the one time this black lady looked at me and said, "Child, those are some sweet legs, bet you could crack a coconut between your knees." Or there was that other time when I came in to the service center at a familiar location and a girl grabbed me by the bag strap and shook me about to and fro. In the back ground her blonde friend at the coppier said, "Hey Gwen leave the pizza boy alone, you are making him blush." Sorry to hear that the moronic exploits of ather humans affected your life and pushed you into a car where it is gonna be hot this summer.

It was a daily occurrence, unfortunately. After a while it seemed like I was just constantly angry, and that has gotten a lot better since switching over. I'd be interested in talking to Rebecca sometime to see if she had the same problem. Anyway, I will be working in the yoga studio by May or June, so the car thing is (thankfully!) only temporary.

Beccina was crazy by the way, nerves of depleted uranium which I think according to the element chart is actually stronger than steel. She prolly would chew the face off of anyone who thought it would be a good idea to mess with her spirit or perhaps leave them walking away blushed over the top.

see, that was the main problem. I got really, really sick of yelling at people several times every day.

oh well. so it goes.

uhhhh quick question. How could the aggression/violence possibly be any less out on the roads of this shiezen hole city of a million behind the wheel of a car viper surrounded by more car vipers in a race to go nowhere while the earths surface temp continues to rise? Seems logical that the violence by default would automatically double seeing the stakes have doubled. I mean I am not trying to pick any arguement, I'm a lover not a fighter but I do have a tendancy to try to figure out what people are really trying to say....One more thing, I meant chew the face off as figurative statement, I have seen her do it calmly with a smile and this weird cracked out look that let me believe she knew the reproach of which she was standing without letting anger into her voice because that was what was true at the time.
